Our Story

    Georgia & Alexander

Waterside Country Barn was just a figment of our imagination back in October 2014 when we got engaged and started to plan our own wedding here at Mill House.

September 2015 was our big day. It was a personal, colourful & relaxed country wedding. Which included laser clay pigeon shooting, a Michelin starred chef, and a micro pig! Following this we wanted to make it possible for more couples to experience all the magic and beauty Mill House has to offer.

The next few years saw a lot of blood, sweat and tears and in that time a lot changed here in order to achieve our evergrowing vision. The lake saw some long overdue maintenance work and we began a tree plantation scheme to create an extra special scenic space not just for our couples to enjoy but for the benefit of the wildlife and environment too.

2017 saw the creation of our first glamping pod which has since expanded to 4 unique glamping units here at Mill house. We are able to accommodate up to 8 people on site. Our shepherds hut being the perfect bridal suite for the newly weds!

In 2019 Alexander, and his team at Outbuild which included his brother Cameron, began the construction of Waterside Country Barn, a multi-purpose, bespoke timber frame building beside the lake. The following year permission was granted for it to be used as a wedding venue.

The rewards here have been wholesome, with an-abundance of wildlife flocking to the site which currently includes; resident nesting swans, kingfishers, dragon flies, a team of ducks and many other species of birds and wildlife.

Our vision has now become a reality and we want to share this magical space and create blissful memories for those who choose to spend their wedding day here at Waterside Country Barn.
